We at Sphero are excited to help you learn more about Sphero robots, Sphero Edu and how to integrate these into your classroom, school, makerspace, after-school club or wherever else you find Sphero. Our goal with Sphero Edu is to learn through play and inspire creativity. Sphero Edu uses app-enabled robots to foster creativity through discovery and play, all while laying the foundation for computer science.
Sphero Edu provides a toolset that is unbounded in its potential. It’s not our role to limit young minds and place them on an established path, but to knock down the barriers and let them discover their own. We believe that sometimes the best lessons are the ones we teach ourselves. While coding and 21st century skills are important , our platform goes beyond code by incorporating robotics and technology with collaborative STEAM activities, nurturing students’ imaginations in ways no other education program can.
Our cross-platform app is approachable for all readiness levels and allows learners to progress with ease. It is time to think outside the bot and inspire brighter futures. This is Sphero Edu.
Throughout this course you will achieve the following objectives:
- Learn about who Sphero Edu is and how it can enhance computational thinking in your classroom
- Understand your Sphero robot and how it can be used
- Dive into the Sphero Edu app to: set-up an educator account, create classes, activities and programs
- Learn how to program Sphero robots using the app’s Draw, Blocks and Text programming canvases.
- Review Sphero activities and programs to understand how to find the right ones for you and your class.
- Understand how Sphero Edu uses project and problem based learning to enhance the learning experience
- Discover ways to make it all work in any classroom environment.
You will be completing a series of modules to help you achieve these objectives, it is encouraged that you complete the modules in order. To receive the Sphero Edu Professional Learning certificate, you must complete all the modules along with all of the deliverables included in each of the sessions. Most users will take 4-6 hours to complete this course, and it will be available to you for 90 days. Throughout the course you will be interacting with your purchased Sphero robot, the Sphero Edu app and a number of other tools we will provide you in this platform.
